Brinkmann Pro Series 2500 Gas Grill Review
Built from die cast aluminum and stainless steel, the Brinkmann Pro Series 2500 is an incredibly well built grill. Comprising of four cast iron burners, these produce a combined BTU of 40,000, which for a grill in the 2500’s price category is well above the standard. An added feature of the grill is that it offers a 12,000 BTU side burner; this allows users to cook in a more traditional sense, whilst using the grill. It can also be used as a warming area. With in excess of 550 square inches of cooking space, this grill can easily feed a small party or a big family and it represents real value for its size. However, if the grill is just required for family use then it’s worth look at the Weber Spirit E-210 which has a more manageable cooking space of 350 square inches
Like many of the Pro Series range this grill has one touch ignition. However, the 2500 is not quite as automatic as some of the machines on the market – there is still a short series of clicks for the grill to fully ignite.
Although Brinkmann is often cast as having a poor product giving in comparison to Weber, the ProSeries 2500 does have some top quality features.
The grates for the grill are made of cast iron coated with porcelain, and as such they retain heat very well. They are also easily cleaned, with food being scraped off effortlessly. The grill also heats up at a fairly quick speed considering its BTU rate and the sheer size of the unit. The Brinkmann’s hood has a professional grade temperature gauge to monitor which can be more than useful for inexperience grillers.
Brinkmann have thought carefully about the design of this grill and whilst it’s not the prettiest out there, it certainly offers plenty of helpful features. With a large side table, the grill has the perfect amount of preparation space or storage for cutlery and condiments. There is also a handy area under the grill which provides storage for tools and accessories. Combine this with cool to touch handles and heavy duty lockable casters, the Pro Series 2500 ticks a lot of boxes.
With easy assembly, there are clear instructions and no tools are needed. Brinkmann grills do sometimes need to have parts replaced to ensure the grill works at its optimum and these are easily sourced online and through retailers. However, if you want a grill that looks after itself and needs little maintenance, it’s worth investing a little more and choosing a Weber. Their Weber Genesis S-320 model is a similar size to the Pro Series 2500, but with a stronger warranty and reputation for being hard wearing, it’s worth comparing.
